Why We Said Yes to CrossFit 32034

Why We Said Yes to CrossFit 32034

It wasn’t just a business decision—it was personal. Taking over CrossFit 32034 felt less like signing paperwork and more like answering a calling. From the moment I stepped foot into a gym at 13 years old, navigating clunky machines in a Kentucky globo gym, CrossFit planted itself deep in my soul. Now, years later, after meeting the love of my life at Crossfit 32034, we want to bring fitness to the community that invested so much into both of us.

But why, you might ask, did Coral and I say “yes” to owning this gym? Let me take you behind the curtain, through a journey filled with sweat, fears, and a whole lot of hope.

The Call of Fernandina Beach

Picture Amelia Island—a sunlit paradise surrounded by ocean breezes and live oaks, yet burdened with an invisible weight. Beneath the surface of this idyllic town lies a struggle. Sedentary lifestyles. A rise in preventable health issues. And, perhaps most importantly, a yearning for something bigger—a sense of connection and purpose.

  • We saw the need: People searching for a way to take control of their health but unsure where to start.
  • We knew the solution: CrossFit isn’t just burpees and barbells. It’s a place where people show up as strangers and leave as family.
  • We wanted to make a difference: I knew that with the right support, anyone—from a first-timer to a seasoned athlete—could find a place where they belong.

Owning CrossFit 32034 became my way of building a lighthouse in the fog—a beacon for health, strength, and community.

Filling the Gaps

Amelia Island isn’t just beaches and tourist brochures. It’s home to families, business owners, retirees, and kids growing up faster than the tide can roll in. But when it comes to fitness, gaps were glaring:

  • The cookie-cutter gyms: Sure, they’re fine for some, but where’s the guidance? The camaraderie? The challenge that pushes you beyond what you thought was possible?
  • The fitness intimidation factor: Many people think, “I could never do CrossFit—it’s too intense.” But here’s the thing: CrossFit is for everyone. Whether you’re lifting a PVC pipe or a loaded barbell, it’s about progress, not perfection.

At CrossFit 32034, I wanted to redefine what fitness means for this community. It’s not about being the strongest or fastest; it’s about showing up, trying your best, and celebrating every small win.

Empowering the Next Generation

Both Coral and I, played sports as we grew up. But CrossFit was a revelation—a sport that didn’t just focus on aesthetics but on ability. It taught me discipline, resilience, and the value of showing up even when I didn’t feel like it.

Now, as the owners of CrossFit 32034, we want to pass that on:

  • To the kids: CrossFit can teach the next generation that fitness isn’t a chore; it’s an adventure. Imagine growing up believing you’re capable of anything.
  • To the hesitant adults: Whether you’ve been out of the game for years or have never stepped into a gym, it’s never too late to start. There’s something magical about watching someone lift their first weight or conquer a box jump they thought impossible.

Every time I see someone’s eyes light up after a new achievement, I remember why I said yes.

The Fear Factor

Of course, saying yes wasn’t without its doubts. Would we be able to run a gym? What if no one showed up? Owning CrossFit 32034 wasn’t just a leap of faith; it was a full-on swan dive off a cliff into the unknown.

But here’s the secret: fear isn’t a stop sign. It’s a green light—proof that you’re stepping out of your comfort zone and doing something that matters.

Why It Matters to You

So why are we telling you all this? Because my story isn’t just about us—it’s about you. Whether you’re a seasoned CrossFitter, a newbie considering your first class, or someone who’s just curious about this whole fitness thing, our hope is that this gym becomes your second home.

  • Start small: You don’t need to crush a PR on day one. Just show up. Take that first step.
  • Find your people: At CrossFit 32034, you’ll meet others who cheer you on, share your struggles, and celebrate your wins.
  • Trust the process: Progress takes time, but every step forward is a victory worth celebrating.

One Small Step

Here’s our challenge to you: take one small action today. It could be walking through the doors of CrossFit 32034, doing 10 air squats in your living room, or even just booking a consultation to learn more.

Owning this gym isn’t just a job—it’s a privilege. Every day, we get to witness people discover their strength, find their community, and transform their lives. And that’s why we said yes.

So, what will you say yes to today?
